The Year ahead. Message from Ferg
27 January, 2010

Hi everyone,

So its time to go back to school and you're probably making good intentions about the year ahead and saying things like "I'm going to give this my best shot" or perhaps it's "I have done a term of year 12 and it's getting scary already."

If you want a great result, it's there for the taking. So in this week organize a plan of action, include in it things that you like doing, set yourself a few rules around using Facebook and watching TV and stick to them!

Achieving your dream ATAR and getting into the university course of your dreams will involve making some sacrifices so take the time to write down why you want to achieve these things and what it will mean to you to achieve this. When times are tough(they will be sometimes) refer back to these reasons to remind yourself of why you need to push forward. As Abraham Lincoln said "Always bear in mind that your own resolution to succeed is more important than any one thing". Students who demonstrate willpower will not only come out with great ATARs but will also be equipped with the skills to go on in life and take on any challenges that are presented to them. So write the word WIILPOWER in as many places as you can around your house and bedroom.
Actually I think that it would make a great tattoo! (Not that we are encouraging you to get a tattoo!)

So get organized and match effort with your desire to succeed.

Stay with us through your HSC year and lets do this!!
