Some messages of thanks from our 2011 students
19 January, 2012The most important thing for all HSC students is to make sure that they give the HSC their best possible effort so that they can forever hold their head up high knowing that they did their best. We are immensely proud of our students who threw everything at the HSC in 2011 to ensure a great result and open the door of opportunity through a great result.
The best part about being involved with young people at this part of their lives is that we get to see them grow into young adults and this process is always wonderful to see.
Below is some of the feedback that our HSC 2011 students have sent in:
"Dear Ferg and Jesse,
Thank you so much for getting me through the HSC! I can't tell you how glad I am it's over- a feeling that is a positive one because through you guys I worked hard and can finish school knowing that I did my best. What you guys do is inspirational and I just wanted you to know how much your "Submitting Online" and "EBTS" and Sunday mornings helped me- more importantly your positive and streamline approach to year 12. You taught me that the only way out is through (and boy am I glad to be out of the system now!). However in saying that, I will carry the lessons I learnt from your guys all throughout my life- and that is how to work consistently and achieve your goals and be kind to yourslf and have GOOD TIME MANAGEMENT, these things we learn from the HSC and use in the real world.
Thank you once again, MZ."
"Hi Jesse and Ferg,
I just thought I would send a quick email to let you know how I went in the HSC. I was really pleased with my results getting a band 6 in English and an overall ATAR of 96.3! Thank you so much for all of your help and marking otherwise I really don't think I would have gone so well. I hope you both have a really great holiday and get a bit of a break! Have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year and good luck with the 2012 HSC kids,
Thank you again,
LC"
"Hi Ferg and Jesse,
I would just like to say a HUGE thank you for everything you have done for Emily over the past three years, especially this year. Thought we would let you know, if you don't know already - Em's results were: two band sixes (Business Services 93, and Community and Family Studies 94), three band fives (Advanced English 86, Mathematics 81 and Biology 80). She even managed a band 3 in chemistry (69) with very little study. She also came ninth in the state for Business Services. So you ask what the ATAR was? 89.5!!!!!!!! We have a very, very happy girl and very, very proud parents. We are very grateful for everything you have done for Emily and hopefully we can come up and see you in the new year.
We would like to wish you and your families a very Merry Christmas. May 2012 bring you lots of love, happiness and good health.
Thank you again,
KG and family"
"Hi Ferg,
Just thought I'd let you know that I got 86 for the HSC in English!! I know it's not band 6... but it's so much better than I was expecting! And my ATAR overall was AMAZING! Thank you so much for all your help throughout the past year. I really appreciate the effort you and the rest of the tutors put in. :) I couldn't have done it without you!
Kind regards,
LG"
"Dear Ferg and Jesse,
Hope all is well and that you’re enjoying your break – I know I am!
Just wanted to send you guys an email to once again thank you for all of the help that you have given me throughout the year, being at the office was an amazing experience, and I cannot imagine completing year 12 any other way.
Also, last week I received my results which I am absolutely stoked with, so here they are.
Advanced English 94/100
Extension 1 English 47/50
Extension 2 English 46/50
Design and Technology 94/100
Visual Arts 93/100
Business studies 91/100
Studies of Religion I 46/50
This placed me on the honour roll and an All Rounder for obtaining a band 6/E4 in 10 units.
I was even more blown away the next day because I got an ATAR of:
97.85!!!!
I couldn’t be any more happy with these marks and it made the holidays that much better. So thank you again for all of the help and motivation that pushed me to practice, submit, and work my hardest.
I’m quite confident that this mark will get me into my first preference (Architecture at UNSW) as my mark is a full point above the cut off. I was also ecstatic to find out that I received a scholarship to UNSW due to academic merit and cannot wait to start already!
Could you also please extend a big thank you to Finola and Kathy. Their help throughout the year was vital to my success in the HSC and they were both amazing teachers.
Hope to hear from you guys sometime and would love to see you all again. I think Jesse was talking about a reunion party taking place around February, so please let me know the details of when that is happening, it sounds like a great time.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!!
Regards,
AG"
"Dear Ferg and the team at FergHSC,
You really do help HSC students achieve the best HSC results possible. I attended a workshop, mock exam, watched the online videos and used the online marking service for English Extension 1 and English Advanced. These experiences added an extra dimension to my study of English. Upon receiving my results this week, I was delighted to discover that I had achieved a band 6 in English Advanced and an E4 in English Extension 1.
These results were better than anything I had expected and attribute much of my success to all the invaluable skills, hints and tips provided to me by FergHSC-not to mention the motivation, confidence and enthusiasm towards English Extension 1 that I came away with from the workshop.
I hope that you continue to assist HSC students for many years to come.
Thank you very much,
MG"
