The War Against Highlighters!
4 July, 2009

When you are preparing for your HSC Trial English exams you are not going to be assessed on how many study notes you can highligh. Your great HSC English mark will come form how well you write in the exam room. So how do you prepare for writing in the exam room? By writing. You now need to start putting yourself under the pump. Select HSC style questions and give yourself 40 minutes to answer the question, it's the best and the only way to find out what you know and what you don't know. THEN IT IS TIME TO LOOK AT YOUR NOTES, after you have made an attempt at a response. It's the same in Reading Task and Writing Task, get a question and have a go at answering it. Now what did I say about your pretty highlighters? Put them away and get writing essays!
